The Global Learning Exchange for Social Impact Investing (GLE) was launched at the G8 Social Impact Investment Forum hosted by David Cameron in London mid-2103. The aim was to test potential and appetite for a global ‘network of networks’ to link people across sectors in an exchange of ideas, resources and best practice. Impact Strategist was asked to lead the strategy for development of this ambitious initiative.
The initiative was hosted by the Impact Investing Policy Collaborative, a partnership between Pacific Community Ventures and the Initiative for Responsible Investment at Harvard University and developed in collaboration with the UK Cabinet Office and World Economic Forum. Following the success of the pilot, avenues to develop the GLE are being explored.
In its pilot phase, the GLE engaged politicians, business people, policymakers, investors, entrepreneurs, academics, professional advisers, and investors from over 145 countries. Over 23,000 people visited the GLE site and 1000 people from more than 60 countries signed on for webinars with global leaders. Rosemary contributed a lead chapter to the GLE Global Snapshot report in 2014 which brought together practice from around the globe and spoke at the launch at Rockefeller Foundation in New York.
